How Hendry as a character came to be

Hendry is an Original Character that I've been slowly building over the years, and much like every other OC you see and heard of online, he originated as an imaginative thought that my brain has created to explore the world-building of our favorite franchise(s) and understand the personality of our favorite characters; He's a manifestation of what I want and mostly desire but don't exactly have... yet.

Over time I mapped out what Hendry's appearance, name, Pokemon Team, how his story goes in the world of Pokemon, and his relationships with canonical characters (Mostly N Harmonia in this instance).

Back around 2020-2022, Hendry had a slightly different name and appearance, his name was originally 'Argus', and he was a Flying-type Pokemon specialist at the time. Later on his name was altered to 'Henry'. At that point his type specialty was changed to Steel, and he was a Station Master.

It was around 2023/2024 where I really delved deep into brainstorming his characteristics a little more, such as being truly Scottish and not just Galarian, having a more buff and burly design, the meaning and reason behind why his team consists of Pokemon that gain the Steel-type upon evolving, his queer romantic relationship with N, and lots more.

What inspired the creation of Hendry?

As of recently, Hendry's more heavy Scottish personality is sorta influenced by Jamie McCrimmon, a character who appeared in the sci-fi show 'Doctor Who'. McCrimmon is a Scotsman who was a very close companion of the Second Doctor in the classic era of the show. When I mean 'very close', I mean, Gay Implications Very Close.

As I make Scenarios In My Head™, I've been concious of Hendry's accidental resemblance to Hans from the hit Disney Film 'Frozen'. I kinda don't wanna change Hendry's appearance because he's nice and had good looks, but I also don't like the fact he has a resemblance to a character from a film that is made under a bajillion dollar entertainment corporation that has a history of breaking moral compasses. You figure out THAT capitalist/consumerism nonesense. Go on. I dare you go down the Disney capitalism rabbithole, fool! Anyways...

Other than that, Hendry is simply a Scotsman who been Through It All and reigned resiliently in spite of what Hell he had been through in his youth. That's all I can say... for now.

What is with Hendry's gay sexuality, hm? Elaborate on this a little more, please.

It's difficult to explain, but I'll try my best to elaborate on his sexuality and why it might mean a lot to me in the future. I've always wondered what it's like to be Queer for a while now; been doing it since around 2020-ish.

I'm pretty cetain this might have to do with my hyperfixation with N Harmonia, a prominent character from Pokemon Black & White. Aftrall he is one of so many intriguing Pokemon characters with a standout appearance and personality. He's very popular, like... very popular. I don't love him, but I certainly do like him. Sounds strange coming from someone who has a bunch collectables of their favorite character, huh? To figure out all of that love nonesense, I've manifested and created a character that would love him instead of me; behold, Hendry. Wh- why does that last sentence sound so heartless even though it's not???

This page will have uhhhhh hmmmmmm short stories of Hendry on his little adventures as a grown-ass man, and self-worth. Will I get to making them? Not immediately, no. I really need so much time and motivation t obrainstorm a lot of that. Average resilient but struggling artist behavior.
